Q

What is phase 2 of clinical trials?

A
  • can be blind or double blind trials.
  • tested on patient with the condition the drug was made for.
  • larger number of partidipants

Q

what are the properties of drugs that result in rapid excretion in the urine? why?

A

high polarity of hydrophilicity
kidney filtration - filtrated waster-soluable molecules from the blood into the urine.
reduced reabsorption - Hydrophilic drugs are unlikely to be reabsorbed into the bloodstream in the renal tubules, as they cannot easily cross lipid membranes.
direct elimination - Water-soluble drugs stay in aqueous environment of plasma and urine, promoting faster renal clearance.
