Name 5 different materials that are good
Acrylic, Aluminium, Mild Steel, Plywood, High-Density Polyethylene
Why is Acrylic good?
Lightweight and shatter-resistant
Easy to cut and shape
Available in various colours and finishes
Ideal for display panels, casings, or decorative parts
Why is Aluminium good?
Lightweight but strong
Corrosion-resistant (doesn’t rust)
Good for structural parts or enclosures
Easy to machine and gives a clean, modern finish
Why is Mild Steel good?
Very strong and durable
Good for structural or load-bearing components
Easily welded
Needs protection from rust (e.g. painting or powder coating)
Why is plywood good?
Strong for its weight and cost-effective
Easy to cut and work with
Good for prototyping or internal components
Has a natural wood finish for aesthetic uses
Why is High Density Polyethylene good
Tough and impact-resistant
Moisture and chemical-resistant
Commonly used for containers or functional parts
Recyclable and relatively cheap
