Pangea was the connection of a ‘supercontinent’, which was separated through Continental Drift, creating continents like Australia, Africa, Antarctica and South America , as well as India. This theory is supported through evidence of animal and plant fossils of the same species found on multiple continents.

It is the occurrence of hot magma within the mantle rising upwards and overtime, slowly pushing the crust upwards and expanding. When the magma starts to cool, it will fall downwards (laws of gravity), and therefore create currents that slowly move the plates above.
