Q

If enter a defect and press confirm what happens?

A

The fault will be listed as a TL item under the open item section.

Be careful because if you divert these open items will need to be fixed

Sometimes best to make note and at the end of the flight

17
Q

During close flight (AML)

If incorrect data was entered (Flight number, origin, destination, 000I and confirm button pressed, can it be changed?

A

Yes.
Only through ENG profile.
and only for the immediate inbound sector.

P26 user guide

18
Q

Scenario:
Aircraft has been released and a commander acceptance confirmed but the park break has not been released.
Now find defect that needs to be entered and fixed…what to do?

A

Close flight using did not depart gate

Then raise the defect

This insures the defect is attributed to the correct sector.

P28

19
Q

How can the pre-flight check tab be selected?

A

Automatically shows up after a diversion

Or

Reporting , flight crew actions, preflight check

20
Q

What is the difference between did not depart gate and ground return?

A

Park break release

21
Q

If ever have to do a temporary authorisation, what should you watch out for?

A

PAPER AML IS LEGAL COPY

Page 34 user guide

For temporary authorisation
Paper AML is the legal copy

Engineer will fill out paper AML

Flight Crew will fill in paper AML and copy info into E- techlog

22
Q

If aircraft was dispatched under article 11 what needs to be done upon arrival at Hong Kong or engineer supported station?

A

Flight Crew need to report defect in Etechlog with the following description:

Aircraft Dispatch under …..
Referred to TL ….
Or
Refer to LP…
And
Description of defects and previous action taken

Certificate of release to Service CRS will be issued before the next departure

P35 Userguide

23
Q

Can a deferral be entered into the tech log by the Captain?

A

Defects under MEL that do not require maintenance (M) action can be deferred in the tech log by the commander.

P36

Tap the item
Select actions
Select Dispatch and Raise ADD
Article 11 Dispatch Raise ADD
Temp auth Dispatch raise ADD

Include:
Action description
MEL reference
Crew signature

All of this would be done with guidance from ENG

24
Q

Temp Auth procedure?

A

P39 userguide

Flight Crew enter details of defect in both : etechlog and paper AML

If ADD raised: pilot has to enter entry into etechlog first, so Eng can continue in paper AML

25
Q

When would Dispatch under article 11 be required?

A

Diversion to an airport where company approved personnel are not available

CAD permits aircraft to be dispatched for Flight following maintenance action but without a CRS (certificate of release to Service)

If required to do a pre-Flight inspection contact IOC and maintenance Control .

26
Q

Outport with no ENG, with defect requiring maintenance action?

A

Temp authorisation

PFC no longer possible

Paper AML is the legal copy

Temp authorisation gives an engineer temporary authorisation

Flight Crew fill-in AML and E tech log

27
Q

Where can you find flow chart of different techlog scenarios?

A

Page 70

Etechlog user guide

28
Q

After how many minutes of RED “sending station copy”, should you start worrying about connectivity?

A

Greater than three minutes

Use any alternative connectivity source

ISD dongle
Mobile hotspot
Airport Wi-Fi

Last resort, ENG will help do a station copy fall back using paper techlog.

29
Q

If using alternative paper fall back for station copy, does Paper AML become primary?

A

No.
Confirm paper signed button to get Flight started

E tech tech log remains
Crew and engineers must continue to use Normal E tech log Operations

9.1 userguide

30
Q

What would be a scenario where the fallback would be to use the paper AML?

A

Both cabin and flight deck iPad inoperative

Or

Temporary Authorisation

31
Q

If having comms issues, do you need to use a full paper AML fallback?
(Trouble with sending station copy)

A

No.
Engineer will copy any outstanding entries, not yet synced with the ground system to the paper logbook .

E techlog Continues to be primary

32
Q

What is required for peer to peer iPad sharing?

A

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi must be selected on both iPads

33
Q

What is the range of the iPad peer to peer sharing?

A

Approximately the second galley

34
Q

Can you change the flight number, origin or destination after commanders acceptance?

A

Best course of action is to raise an entry into the Etechlog reporting tab using :

Enabled SYSTEM , software, etechlog , remarks for proper info.

35
Q

Can you change the fuel information after incorrect fuel entry?

A

select the
reporting tab
Fuel record

36
Q

Is it possible to delete a tech log entry after it has been confirmed?

A

Some things can be changed such as blocks on blocks or Dest and Origin off time after the flight is closed via the engineer profile.

37
Q

When selecting close Flight on the tech log should the Flight Crew confirm that the cabin crew don’t have any entries?

A

No.

Cabin crew have 45 minutes after cockpit crew of close the flight to enter any of their defects
