- Dexamethasone, framycetin and gramicidin

Accepted - Chronic suppurative otitis media
Discharging tympanostomy tubes
(Ear infections) - Total tx duration for otitis externa should not exceed 2 weeks.
Adult, child, 3 ear drops 3 or 4 times daily until a few days after symptoms have cleared. - Precautions
Perforated eardrum, tympanostomy tube—risk of inner ear damage is increased by the aminoglycoside (framycetin) but remains low; if use is unavoidable, limit treatment to 5–10 days (contraindicated by manufacturer).
Precautions from Corticosteroids with anti-infectives
Pregnancy
Safe to use.
Breastfeeding
Safe to use.
Ear drops containing ciprofloxacin are preferred if eardrum perforation cannot be excluded
- If you develop ringing in the ears, hearing loss or difficulty with balance, stop using this medication and tell your doctor.
Common (>1%)
allergic dermatitis after prolonged use, particularly with neomycin and clioquinol
Infrequent (0.1–1%) fungal overgrowth (with prolonged use)
Rare (<0.1%)
inner ear damage (with products containing framycetin or neomycin)
