(19 cards)
What does saddle shaped ST elevation indicate
Pericarditis
What does ST elevation in contiguous leads show
STEMI
What does ST depression show
Ischaemia, NSTEMI, posterior MI
What does T wave inversion show
Ischaemia, MI, CNS events, late pericarditis
What do tall tented T-waves indicate
Hyperkalaemia
What do flattened P waves indicate
Hyperkalaemia
AF
Sinus arrest
What is a delta wave
Slurred upstroke of QRS (a dip inside of a straight line on the way from Q-R)
Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome
What does a prolonged PR interval indicate
> 200ms
First degree AV block
What does a shortened PR interval indicate
<120ms
WPW or LGL syndrome
How many seconds in a big box on an ECG
1 big box (5 small boxes) is 0.2seconds / 200ms
What does a wide QRS complex indicate
> 120ms
BBB
Hyperkalaemia
What does a LBBB show up as on an ECG
Broad QRS
Deep S on V1
Tall R on V6
What does RBBB show up as on an ECG
Broad QRS
V1: RSR (bunny ears)
What does QT prolongation indicate
> 440 in women
460 in men
Torsades du Ponte
Drugs; hypokalaemia, hypocalcaemia
What does AF look like on an ECG
No P waves
Irregularly irregular rhythm
What does atrial flutter look like on an ECG
Sawtooth, especially in II,III,aVF
What does ventricular tachycardia look like on an ECG
Broad complex, fast regular rhythm
Life threatening
What does ventricular fibrillation look like on an ECG
Chaotic, irregular, nothing identifiable
Cardiac arrest - defib needed
What does a cardiac tamponade look like on an ECG
Alternating QRS amplitude
