Variable types¶

A

quantitative variables: values are real numbers (e.g., length, age)
categorical variables: values are discrete (e.g., year born, T/F)
Continous/Discrete
Nominal: no meaning, Ordinal: can order categories but the difference between each is not constant, Ratio: difference between consecutive number/categories has meaning, Interval: Ratio with absolute 0 (change unit and still same 0)
