It gives a vague to quit description hinting that this is an image and it gives you an image of somewhere beyond

Biblical reference to the garden of Eden, the garden of Eden a perfect place which suggests that for the narrator the perfect place is with his parents it’s peaceful and again perfect heaven like his happiest place

The introductions of the two parents are married they marry each other. This reflects the closeness of their relationship
“ genuine Irish tweed terrier”
This shows that the narrator seems to take comfort in remember remembering specific things about his parents that are meaningful. It shows his love and all of his parents.
“Sprigged dress “
And shows the beautiful detail of his precious memory of his mother as the narrator showing his love voice Paris remembering all the small minor detail of a happy moment
“ takes on the light”
Show that the light in his mother’s hair is an angelic image showing an image in her head of something beautiful and also shows his love for his mum and his parents remembering all the same detail details
“ skylights as if lit by three suns”
This hints at something otherworldly in contrast with the ordinary description of the first three stances it is like heavenly like three sons could also symbolise that their family of three has been reunited that together again it’s a really positive situation as sun is seen as positive
“ over the drifted stream. My father spins
A stone along the water . Leisurely.,”
The first part over the drifters stream. Shows caesura causing the piece of this poem to slow emphasising the feeling of peace and tranquil it then carries on my father spins a stone along the water. Shows.enjambment of the stone spinning across the water so it goes onto the next line showing the spinning motion it also ends in a. Which is again.caesura
“ I had not thought that it would be like this.”
Monic language creating a tone of child like simplicity the meaning of this last line is ambiguous. We don’t know what it actually is. He may be referring to his preparing to be born or Die. He may be talking about the afterlife itself which can also link back to Eden rock a piece of peace maybe heaven
Form
The poem is made up of five stances mostly four lines long and nearly every line has 10 syllables. This reflects a steady nature of the narrators relationship was parents which is peaceful and calm the final line of separate from the rest of the stanza. This could emphasise the narratives current separation from his parents also shows how he cross the stream and is looking beyondthe poem mainly uses half frames which creates a gentle natural rhythm and came back to his relationship with his parents
structure
In first three stands as the narrator affectionately describes his parents showing his love for them in the last two stances his parents turned their attention to him and encourage him to join them
Language about memory
The narrator uses childhood memories to create a vivid scene. The beautiful and peaceful description of his parents reflect how special his childhood is to him and remembers special little details of the day in the poem. For example the tweed his father was wearing the sprigged dress the special thermosand the HP sauce bottle
Language about light
References to light and the colour white my suggest heavenly setting then came back to Eden rock at the first line of the poem which is like peaceful heaven a paradise
Language about ordinary
Specific details show the narrators nostalgia for details of everyday life on his a child showing how simple and uncomplicated his life was back then as for this time
