Irrelevant material stand in the way of linking pieces or relevant material.
Seduction
Priming inappropriate existing knowledge to organize incoming content.
Signaling
Use of headings, bold, italics, underlining, capital letters, larger font, color etc. to draw the learner’s attention to specific parts of a display or page.
