Effects on lung disease on gas exchange

A

Tuberculosis, fibrosis, asthma and emphysema all reduce rate of gas exchange in the alveoli

As less oxygen able to diffuse into the blood stream the body cells receive less oxygen and the rate of aerobic respiration is reduced

So less energy is released and sufferers feel tired and weak
