EKG Flashcards
P wave
Atrial depolarization
QRS complex
Ventricular Depolarization
T wave
Ventricular Repolarization
QT interval
total duration of ventricular depolarization/repolarization, the duration of the action potential
PR Interval
the delay of conduction over the AV node due to the lack of Na channels, allows atria to contract before ventricles
3 Types of AV blocks
1st degree: all currents get through but are delayed
2nd degree: most currents get through but occasionally a QRS is missed
3rd degree: no currents get through, atrial and ventricular contractions are no longer synced
Right BBB
Slow conduction in the RV, widens QRS
Left BBB
Slow conduction in the LV, widens QRS
Fascicular Blocks
Delayed conduction to portion of LV but QRS is normal
3 conduction disturbances that cause arrhythmias
Abnormal reentry pathways, ectopic foci, triggered activity
