Electricity Flashcards
(6 cards)
What is Electricity?
A term used to describe the energy produced when electrons are caused to directional flow from atom to atom.
What is Electrical Current?
The movement of electrons between atoms
What is an Ampere / amp?
It is the amount of electrical current that exists when a number of electrons having one coulomb of charge, move past a given point in one second
What is a Coulomb?
The charge carried by 6.25 x 10 ^18 electrons
What is Electromotive Force, EMF?
A force that causes electrons to move in a particular direction.
What is a Volt?
It is the electrostatic difference between two points when one joule of energy is used to move one coulomb of charge from one point to another
