Electronics Flashcards
(7 cards)
Explain what is meant by “Infinite Input Impedance”.
No current leaves or enters the Op-Amp’s inputs.
Explain what is meant by “Zero Output Impedance”.
Output voltage is independent of output current.
Explain what is meant by “Infinite Open-Loop Gain”.
Any voltage difference on the two input terminals will saturate the Op-Amp’s output voltage.
Explain what is meant by “Infinite Bandwidth”.
All input freqencies are amplified by the same factor.
Explain what is meant by “Infinite Slew Rate”.
No delay between a change in an Op-Amp’s input voltage and consequent change in its output voltage.
Explain what is meant by “Zero Noise Contribution”.
No noise is contributed to the output/signal bu the Op-Amp.
Explain the meaning of “Virtual Earth”, in the context of inverting amplifiers.
[4]
- ideal Op-Amp has infinite open loop gain and input impedance;
- non-inv. input is at earthed potential;
- if inv. input == non-inv. input, feedback voltage… ;
- …acts to reduce difference in Vin until the input voltages are equal;
(Therefore, when stable, inv. input effectively has 0V)
