A dramatic composition, often in verse, dealing with a serious or somber theme, typically that of a great person destined through a flaw of character or conflict with some overpowering force, as fate to society, to downfall or destruction
Tragedy
The purging emotions or relieving of emotional tensions, especially through a certain kinds of arts, as tragedy or music
Catharsis
complication or inciting incident. Gets things going. begins with the conflict which will continue the play
Exciting force
Something that introduces, usually unexpectedly, some difficulty, problem, change
Complication
The part of a literary plot that occurs after the climax has been reached and the conflict has been resolved
Falling Action
The highest or most intense point in the development or resolution of something
Climax
Related series of incidents in the literary plot that build toward the point of greatest interest
Rising action
A passing or casual reference; an incidental mention of something, either directly or by implication
Allusion
Intended to convey information or explain: a detailed statement or explanation
Exposition
A part of an actor’s lines supposedly not heard by the others on stage and intended only for the audience
Aside
A group of actors or a single actor having a function similar. The part of play performed by such a group or single
Chorus
a play, movie, etc., of light and humorous character with a happy or cheerful ending
Comedy
the outcome or resolution of a doubtful series of occurrences
Denouement
a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based
Analogy
a short account of a particular incident or event, especially of an interesting or amusing nature
