Ralph Fitch

  • Tried to set up links with Far East.
  • He sailed to Syria and then made a 3000 mile journey to India. However the Portuguese dominated the trade and arrested him.

After his release he went on many travels where he gained knowledge on wealth and trade of India. He wrote about the people and customs and goods. The gems, spices, cloths and drugs.
This made people interested in the oppurtunities that could be won.

A
