Immediate procedure: Engine failure during takeoff roll
Throttle - idle Brakes - apply Wing flaps - retract Mixture control - ICO magnetos switch - off STBY BATT - off Master switch (alt and batt) - off
Procedure for engine failure immediately after takeoff
Airspeed - 70kts flaps up or 65kts with 10-30 flap Mixture control - ICO fuel shuttoff valve - off (pull full out) Magnetos switch - off Wing flaps - full recommended STBY BATT - off Master switches - off Cabin door - unlatched Land straight ahead
Engine failure during flight (restart procedure)
Airspeed - set for glide 68kts
Fuel shutoff valve - ON push full in
Fuel selector valve - both
Fuel pump switch - ON
Mixture control - RICH (if restart has not occured)
Magnetos - both or to start if propellor has stopped
Emergency procedure for cabin fire in flight
- STBY BATT switch - off
- MASTER switch (ALT and BAT) - off
- Cabin vents - CLOSED to avoid draughts
- CABIN HT and CABIN AIR control knobs - OFF
- Fire extinguisher - ACTIVATE (if available)
After fire extinguisher has been used make sure fire is extinguished before exterior air is used to remove smoke from cabin.
- Cabin vents - OPEN
- CABIN HT and CABIN AIR control knobs- ON
- Land the plane asap
Abnormal landing procedure: Landing with a flat main tyre
- Approach - NORMAL
- Flaps - FULL
- Touchdown - GOOD MAIN TYRE FIRST (hold airplane off flat tire as long as possible with aileron control)
- Directional control- MAINTAIN (using brake on good wheel as required)
Abnormal landing procedures: Landing with a flat nose tyre
- Approach - NORMAL
- Wing flaps - AS REQUIRED
- Touchdown - ON MAINS (hold nose wheel off ground for as long as possible)
- When nosewheel touches down, maintain full up elevator as airplane slows to stop
Detonation is occuring during flight. What do you do?
Mixture - RICHEN
Throttle - PULL BACK (decrease)
Airspeed - INCREASE (angle down the nose)
