structural features
free verse, enjambment and caesura all have a combined effect of the chaos in the place that she loves
the danger of the place is reflected in the disorganised and chaotic structural features - however there is a fairly regular stanza length, possibly reflecting the idea of imposing order on the chaos, refusing to be overcome by the negativity of the conflict or power imposed on her.
repetition of ‘they’ creates a threatening tone
final stanza shows caesura - reflecting powerlessness
