Demand response is when energy users are provided with a financial incentive to turn down or turn off non-essential processes at times of peak demand helping the grid to balance supply and demand without the need for additional generation (e.g. power stations) to be used.

The Government introduced the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) to incentivise large businesses to implement energy-saving measures and help to cut UK carbon emissions. Businesses must carry out an audit of their energy-consuming activities and identify cost-effective energy-saving measures once every four years.
Who needs to comply?
Companies need to comply with ESOS if, on the 31st December 2018, they have:
More than 250 employees or an annual turnover of more than £50 million & An annual balance sheet total of £43 million.
The deadline for ESOS is fifth of December 2019

Who must your ESOS assessment be reviewed by?
Your ESOS assessment must be reviewed by a board-level director and approved by an ESOS Lead Assessor.
Our assessment will be signed off by one of our Lead Assessors.
Your compliance must also be reported to the Environment Agency.

- report your compliance to the Environment Agency.
There is no mandatory requirement for businesses to implement the energy-saving opportunities identified by the ESOS audits. However, they do offer………
a valuable opportunity for you to reduce your energy use and costs.
The measures identified could range from simple ‘quick-fix, fast-return’ solutions, such as installing LED lighting, through to longer-term investment programmes.

What is it?
C3ntinal:
It’s an energy management software. Its highly innovative using algorithms from the world of finance and the world of precision engineering. It uses machine learning algorithms within sentinel to apply those across the energy data that the customer has. What that allows us to do is understand - quite detailed patterns in consumption - .
The goal is to use the vast amount of data that is coming out of buildings, energy usage and then turn that data into actionable valuable insight.
