Engine Flashcards

1
Q

How does fuel get from the fuel tanks to the engine

A

low pressure pump - returns to fuel tank as motive flow
high pressure pump - flows through fuel/oil heat exchanger to fuel filter then Fuel Metering Unit (FMU) then through high pressure pump before returning to FMU

Describe the ATTCS

A

available for takeoff and go around; automatically commands RSV when it is armed and thrust levers are at TOGA and one of the following occurs:

  • difference between N1 values is greater than 15%
  • one engine failure during takeoff
  • one engine failure during go-around
  • windshear detection
