10
Q

What are the 4 stages to an on ground engine start?

A

1) FADEC initiates ignition at 7% N2
2) fuel flow metering valve (FMV) opens between 20-25% N2
3) after light off, FADEC commands starter cut out at approx 50% N2
4) FADEC commands FMV to accelerate engine to ground idle speed

16
Q

What icon is shown on the EICAS during an auto relight?

17
Q

When should an auto relight be manually aborted?

A

If no light off within 30 seconds or N2 falls below 7.2%

18
Q

If one thrust reverser has failed what happens if both thrust levers are selected to max reverse?

A

Only minimum reverse thrust is available

19
Q

If one thrust reverser has failed what happens if the operative thrust lever is selected to max reverse?

A

Max reverse is given on the operative engine

20
Q

What is the configuration of the FADEC channels?

A

2 channels in active/standby configuration. The active one is switched at every engine start

21
Q

How is the FADEC powered?

A
  • PMA above 50% N2
  • 28V DC below 50% N2
22
Q

When does ATTCS command reserve power?

A
  • difference between n1 values is greater than 15%
  • one engine failure during takeoff
  • one engine failure during go around
  • windshear detection
23
Q

How can ATTCS be manually activated?

A

By moving the thrust levers to max

24
Q

What is minimum flex takeoff thrust?

A

75% max rate takeoff thrust or CLB-2 +1% (whichever is highest)

25
What are the 4 idle modes?
Flight Approach Final approach Ground
26
What is indicated by a cyan line on the n1 display?
Minimum n1 needed for anti ice
27
What does the FADEC give protection against during ground starts?
Hung, hot and no light off starts
28
When does the FADEC command engine shutdown?
If n2 reaches 102%
29
What is max ITT for fuel flow on ground?
120 Celsius
