1. Energy from the sun causes the water to evaporate from land and sea.
2. This turns it into water vapour
3. The warm water is carried upwards
4. When it gets higher up it cools and condenses to form clouds
5. Water falls from clouds as precipitation onto land
6. Then drains into sea before the whole process starts again
