What is food security
Ability for people to buy sufficient safe, nutritious and affordable food
Explain Sustainability
Producing food in a way that can be maintained over a long period of time and protects the environment
What does Fair-trade mean

Define climate change
Changes in the earths temperature that can lead to unusual and extreme weather conditions
What are greenhouse gases
Gases that form an insulating layer around the earths atmosphere which traps heat and raises earths temperature
What is non renewable energy
Energy produced from fossil fuels that cannot be renewed once used up
What are fossil fuels
Coal, oil and gas that were created millions of years ago by fossilised plants and animals
Define food provenance
Where foods and ingredients come from
What are pesticides
Chemicals sprayed on plant crops to prevent insect and mould attack and prevent weed growth so you get strong plants
List some grown ingredients
