Alpha: Vasoconstriction
Beta 1: Increase heart rate
Beta 2: Bronchodilation

Increases amt of O2 present in the blood
Epinephrine’s indication
Anaphylaxis
Oxygen’s indication
Any medical/traumatic condition that causes patient to be hypoxic.
Epinephrine’s contraindications
Patients with underlying history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, pregnancy, tachyarrhythmias.
Oxygen’s contraindications
None in pre hospital setting
Epinephrine’s adverse effects
Palpitations, tachycardia, anxiousness, headache, tremor, nausea, vomiting
Oxygen’s adverse effects
None with short term use. Long term use can lead to drying of patient’s airway and lungs.
Epinephrine’s Dosage
Adult: 0.3mg. Pediatric: 0.15mg
Oxygen’s flow rate
Nasal Cannula: 1-6
Non-rebreather: 12-15
Bag-valve-mask: 15
Epinephrine’s route
IM(intramuscular) injection
