procedure for uterine flush

• put your IV bag in the high pressure system and hang it up
• put on your sterile sleeve
• have assistant open the tube for you with sterile technique and grab it
• ensure to grab the clean end of the tube with your sterile hand
• give the non sterile end, the end that goes into the fluid bag, to your assistant
• have them test the cuff by putting 35mls of air into it, leave it for 5 seconds, then have them take air out to deflate the cuff
• have your assistant attach the fluids to the IV bag and pressurize the system
• prime your line (use assistant to help)
• have assistant put lube on your hand and wipe a little bit of it on the vulva
• go in at a 45 degree angle
• get tube into the cervix and inflate the cuff
• allow fluid to go in
• have assistant hold the bag low down upside down to recorrect all the fluid
• deflate cuff
• come out
