  -get a hold of the mass and make a small stab incision with a #11 blade
• load your biopsy needle and then insert it into the mass and push the plunger to obstain a sample
• come out and expose the tissue, using a hypodermic needle to gently get the sample out
• put the sample in a formalin container or casette with 10:1 ratio
• close your incision with one simple interupted suture

- hold the skin taut with left hand, then using punch instrument gently twist into the tissue
- grab the base with tissue forceps being as gentle as possible and use scissors or scalpel to cut out the chunk
- put the tissue into a formalin container or cassette with 10:1 ratio
- close the site with 1-2 simple interrupted skin sutures

• hold the mass with your left hand
• use a 15 blade to cut from outside in, a little wedge/elipse shape
• use tissue forceps to gently hold the edges of the tissue, using scissors or scalpel to cut it out from the bottom
• handle tissue gently and put into a container of formalin 10:1 ratio
• close the site with a few simple interrupted sutures
