A

A large depression formed at the start of a glacier, it is formed by rotational slip and nivation. A bergschrund at the back wall where it seperates

Arête and pyramidal peaks

A

Formed when 2 Corrie’s back onto each other forming a knife edge or when 3 or more Corrie’s back onto each other they form a pyramid shape

A

A u shaped valley which is formed as a glacier comes through and bulldozes the sides and bottom, removing all of the land there

Ribbon Lake

A

Formed when there is a band of less resistant rock, the glacier erodes it quicker and leaves it lower down

Hanging valley

A

Formed when at a tributary of 2 glaciers, if one is smaller than the other it will be left higher up making it appear like it is hanging
