*in a YELLOW pelican case.

7

Whenever UR's designated for use by firemen are required to be worn, what are the two methods of securing them?

1) secured to each FF H/T case with the Ultraradiac retention strap
2) secured to the bunker coat by the UR case.

8

When are operational tests done and doses cleared if FF are required to wear their UR?

Prior to operating at radiological incidents OR when ordered by the IC.

9

To check your stay time at a Biological incident, a member should press which button on the UR?

ALARM button.
Will tell you the number of minutes you can stay in the area without exceeding the High Dose threshold.

10

How do you test the UR to make sure it is properly functioning?
How will you know it is functioning properly?

--Hold down the "CLR/TEST" button until display test sequence begins.
--A blinking "9" indicates UR PASSED all tests.

What indicated an instrument failure?
What should be done in this case?

A blinking "0" indicates failure.
Place Ultraradiac OOS.

12

How would a member using the UltraRadiac clear their dose?

2) Press and hold "DOSE" and "CLR/TEST keys at the same time.
3) Display will flash for a few seconds then clear the accumulated dose.

13

What is the Source Finder Mode?
How does it alert a member to radioactive materials?

Allows a unit to locate an isolated source by using an audible sound. The unit will start clicking if near radioactive material. As the unit moves closer it will click faster.
**AIM TOP OF UNIT AT SUSPECTED SOURCE OF RADIATION**

14

How do you place the UR in Source Finder Mode?

Hold the "RATE" key until display changes to "1". release "Rate" key

*RED light on LEFT side flashes quickly
*UR will vibrate quickly

17

Whats the Low Dose Alarm?
High Dose Alarm?

low= 5 R
