A
  • steel tank must be dry otherwise cholrine will react with water
  • turned inot a liquid before transportation by pressurising it = more can be contained in tankers
  • tankers are made to reale some chlorine gas if temp or pressure becomes too high

how do workers make sure the cylinder that chlorine is stored in isnt leaking?

A

by placing a cloth soaked in conc. ammonia solutiin and if cylinder is leaking then white clouds of ammonia will be seen
