ppts have the right to withdraw from an investigation at any time, even if they’re being paid to take part. They should be told this at the start of the experiment and no attempt should be made to persuade them to stay

-personal details must be protected. it is more common to record no personal details to maintain anonymity
-researcher refer to ppts using numbers/ letters
