What was the Cold War?
A period of geopolitical tension and ideological conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies lasting from the 1940s to the early 1990s
What was the red scare/menace?
Hysteria over the perceived threat post by communist in the US during the Cold War between the Soviet Union and United States
What was the Warsaw Pact?
Military alliance of communist states and central and eastern Europe formed in 1955 
What was the Cuban missile crisis? 
A 13 day standoff in October 1962 between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War when Soviet nuclear missiles were secretly deployed in Cuba 
What was the Suez Canal? 
A major international event in 1956 triggered by Egyptian president Nasser nationalization of the Suez Canal, which was owned by British and French interest 
What was the Korean War?
A conflict fought from 1950 to 1953 between North Korea and South Korea with international involvement
What was the Vietnam war?
Along costly conflict that pitted the communist government of North Vietnam, Vietnam against South Vietnam, and it’s principal all the United States
What was the gulf war?
A war waged by coalition forces from 37 nations led by the United States against Iraq and response to Iraq invasion and annexation of Kuwait 
What was the Somalia conflict?
Resistance to the Regime of President Siad barre, crime based rivalries and the emergence of Islamic groups 
What was the Bosnia conflict?
It’s stemmed from the break up of Yugoslavia and the declaration of independence by Bosnia, which was followed by armed conflict 
What was the Rwanda conflict?
A Civil War, which was fought between Rwandan armed forces representing the countries government and the rebel Rwandan patriotic front from October 1, 1990 to July 1994 
What was the FLQ crisis?
The culmination of a long series of terrorist attacks perpetrated by the front deliberation de Quebec, a militant, Quebec independence movement 
What was the October crisis?
A period of escalating, political and social unrest in Quebec Canada in the fall of 1970. it was sparked by a series of terrorist act committed by the FLQ 
What was the Avro arrow project?
The development and construction of the CF 105 arrow a supersonic Delta winged interceptor aircraft by Avro Canada. It was designed to defend Canada against bomber attacks from the Soviet Union. 
What was the quiet revolution and the distinct society status?
The quiet Revolution again in 1966 with the election of a liberal government had by Gene Lesage Quebec developed a modern state apparatus and growing middle class made of secular professionals began to exert itself. The quiet Revolution was a period of intense, political and cultural, changing Quebec.
1980 referendum versus the 1995 referendum
The 1980 Quebec referendum was defeated by no 59.56% to a yes 40.44
 the 1995 one voted no by 50.58% and yes, 49.42%

What was Bill 101
No, 101 made French the official language of the government of Quebec and Quebec Society instruction in French became mandatory for immigrants .
Patriating the constitution
It refers to the process by which Canada took control of its own constitution from the British parliament. This occurred in 1982. This act included and amending formula in the Canadian chart of rights and freedoms.
Globalization during the Cold War
The competition between a superpowers and a development of international agreement led to advancements in technology, trade and global connectivity that ultimately accelerated globalization
