Everything Flashcards
(8 cards)
Order of strength of different types of bonds
Covalent, Ionic, Metallic
What are Van der Waals bonds?
A very weak bond between neutral atoms/molecules due to varying charge densities on each
Which bonds are directional or non-directional?
Covalent = directional
Metallic, and Ionic = non-directional
Newton’s first law
A stationary object will remain stationary.
A moving object will continue moving with the same momentum, unless an external force acts upon it
Newton’s second law
When an external force acts on an object, the force is proportional to the rate of change of momentum
F = ma
Newton’s third law
When an object exerts a force upon another object the other object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first object
Back emf definition
An emf generated by spinning motor that opposes the p.d driving the motor and limits the speed of the motor
How many arcminutes are there in a degree?
60
