Q

How does evolution work?

A

Starts with genetic mutation
Changes/mutations in genes lead to new forms of genes alleles
The new genes may become heritable traits
Genetic mutation can be caused by a range of factors including viruses, radiation or errors in DNA replication

Q

What is natural selection?

A
Described by Charles darwin
The individual which produces successfully will pass on their inherited traits onto the next generation
More likely to be passed on if:
-Survives to breeding age
-Breeds successfully
-Produces a lot of offspring
