What causes natural selection?
A
Variation between species and individuals of the same species means some organisms compete more successfully

What is evolution by natural selection?
A
The individuals with advantageous adaptions are more likely to survive, reproduce, and pass on their advantageous gene. Over a lot of time, after many generations have done this, the majority of that population will possess that gene.

How can extinction occur?
A
Changes in the environment may leave some or all of a species less well adapted to compete successfully and reproduce.
