Androgen-insensitivity syndrome
Testosterone is present but cannot connect with cell receptors. Individuals have XY chromosomes, no female-typical internal organs, and active testes.
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia
An inherited condition that causes the adrenal gland to overproduce androgens which influences fetal genetic development and can also affect development later on.
Gender milestones
could be awareness of being “gender different” or could be deciding to change one’s outer appearance to align with particular gender expression. Nonbinary individuals have less linear developmental experience.

Women internalize the perspective of an observer as the primary way of viewing their bodies. Consequences: Focus on bodies can be distracting and can effect performance, think of themselves as “sex object”, body shame, depression, disordered eating.
