What is the main goal of the board of pharmacy
The main goal of the board of pharmacy is protecting the public and enforcing the laws and rules that govern pharmacy
What are the different sanctions that can be enenacted by BOP
Revocation- license taken permanently
Suspension- license taken away temporarily
Probation- Can practice but with limits or additional requirements
letter of reprimand- written expression of disapproval
Censure- verbal expression of disapproval
FIne- up to 1000 dollars for each violation

Suspension- can be reinstated after some time

When can the board request a physical/mental exam
The board may require a physical or mental examination to determine if a practitioner is capable to practice.
It must stem froma disciplinary issue.
What are conditions the board may ask the probationary licensured pharmacist to do
- report regularly to the board on matters requiring a probationary license
- Limit practice to those areas prescribed by the board
- continue or renew professional education
- engage in community service as directed by the board
- Perform or refrain from performing an act that the board considers appropriate to public interest

What must prescribers obtain from the board if they want to circumvent the e-prescription for CS?

NO! unless it is a [artial agonist that is used to treat or manage opioid dependence
When can we not write an opioid prescription for greater than 7 days
- if the prescription is for an adult being prescribed an opioid for the first time by the prescriber
- For child less than 18 years old
- For an animal for the 1st time by veterinarian
When does the 7 day limitation on opioid not apply
- cancer
- palliative care
- Medication assisted treatment for substance use disorder
- A condition that is exempted by the medical licensing board
Or, if in the prescribers professional judgement, a patient required more than the prescription limitations listed on the previous slide
