What are the characteristics of schizoid personality disorder?
Unemotional, disconnected, loner, prefers to be alone, negative schizophrenic symptoms
What are the characteristics of schizotypal personality disorder?
Positive schizophrenic symptoms, Hallucinations, conspiracy theories, unusual preoccupations, doesn’t have a sense that people avoid them
What disorders are within the “dramatic” cluster?
Antisocial, histrionic, narcissistic, borderline
What are common characteristics of the dramatic cluster?
Don’t respect boundaries, don’t care if it’s too much for people
What are some characteristics of antisocial personality disorder?
break rules, lack empathy, lack conscious, use drugs, impulse control problems, do things to the extreme to feel alive
What are some characteristics of borderline personality disorder?
Feel “empty”, terrified of abandonment, very intense attachment, violate boundaries, “love/hate” relationships
What is very successful in treating BPD?
DBT
What are some characteristics of histrionic personality disorder?
“drama queen, will go to lengths to get attention, need to be center of attention, flip emotions on a dime
What kind of people usually have histrionic personality disorder?
performers/theatre people
What are some characteristics of narcissistic personality disorder?
Cold, critical, condecending, needs admiration, criticize relentlessly
What are the anxious personality disorders?
Avoidant, Dependent, OCPD
What are characteristics of avoidant personality disorder?
Loners but not ok with it, social phobia-light, kind of awkward and stiff
What are some characteristics of dependent personality disorder?
Want somebody to take care of them, no confidence that they can take care of themselves, marries a dominant person, won’t leave an abusive relationship.
What are some characteristics of OCPD?
OCD-light, it works for them, inflexible, lots of anxiety, very organized and efficient, tyrants, control takes priority, family is affected, children terrified of making a mistake.
What does costa and mccrae’s “OCEAN” stand for?
Opennes, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neutoticism
What are the behavioral signs of alzheimer’s?
Forgetting repeatedly, trouble naming objects, confabulation, peculiar mistakes, getting lost in familiar areas, denying forgetfulness/mistakes, trouble managing well practiced tasks
