What does APIS stand for and what information would be required?

Advance Passenger Information System. Full names, DOB, Nationality, Residency. Passport number, date of issue, country of issue

What is an ESTA required for and relates to visiting what country?

For holidays of up to 90 days in the USA and instead of filling in a green form. Required to complete at least 72 hours for flying. Customers fill in themselves. Similar data as APIS but also includes questions about health and illegal activity etc.

What is a stopover?

Staying for at least 24 hours to or from final destination. Charges and permission to do so depends on ticket

What is a transit?

Typically less than 24 hours and may require a visa in some locations

An enforced stop due to no same day connection. Accommodation must be requested but may be basic.
