30 min tummy time
sedentary behaviour for no more than 1 hour a time
no screen time, strength
sleep 0-3 month 14-17 hours 4-11 months 12-16 hours

19
Q

5-17 years

A

1 hour moderate to vigorous activity
strength 3 days per week
minimise and break up long periods of sitting
no more than 2 hours screen time
5-13 years sleep 9-11 hr
14-17 sleep 8-19hr

20
Q

18-64 years

A

2.5 - 5 hours moderate or 1.25-2.5 hours vigorous weekly
2 days strength
break up long periods of sitting

21
Q

65+

A

At least 30 minutes of moderate activity on most (preferably all) days.
range of activities that incorporate fitness, strength, balance and flexibility

22
Q

subjective assessment

A

information obtained from a person’s perception, understanding and interpretation of an event.
eg diaries, surveys,

23
Q

objective assessment

A

information obtained via measurable or observable means
eg pedometer, wearable tech, digital tools

24
Q

reactivity

A

change in behaviour of an individual who is aware they are being assessed

25
social desirability bias
the tendency of individuals to respond to questions in a survey in a way that they think will be viewed favourably by others
26
FITT principles
frequency- how often per week physical activity is completed intensity- level of physical exertion or how hard you work eg easy moderate, hard vigorous type- the mode of activity being undertaken, eg aerobic , cycling running time- how long you are active for usually measured in minutes
27
Trends in National PA levels.
gradual improvement
28
aerobic power
- the maximum rate of energy production from the aerobic energy system (i.e. the energy produced in the presence of oxygen). factors affecting this are age , sex and muscle fibre type( more slow twitch fibres)
29
4 health related fitness components
aerobic power muscular strength muscular endurance flexibility
30
muscular strength
peak force that a muscle can develop. factors affecting can be speed of muscle contraction(slower = more force) length of muscle fibre, age, warm up, fibre type (fast twtich= stronger), sex
31
muscular endurance
the ability of a muscle or group of muscles to sustain repeated or sustained contractions against resistance for an extended period. factors affecting are sex , muscle fibre type (more slow twitch= more endurance), lactate tolerance (The greater the lactate tolerance, the greater the anaerobic capacity. The more metabolic by-products that can be tolerated, the more high-intensity efforts/longer high-intensity efforts can be made.)
32
flexibility
is the range of movement around a joint sex, type of joint and age
33
functional movement assesment (fma)
A fundamental movement assessment evaluates an individual's ability to perform basic movement skills, such as locomotion, object control, and stability. These assessments help educators and coaches identify strengths and areas for improvement in physical development, ensuring proper skill progression Conducting an FMA maximises the likelihood of the physical activity plan being effective, safe and sustainable for the individual.
