Q

What is lab experiment

A

allows us to study cause and effect.
It involves the manipulation of one variable (the IV), while trying to keep all the other variables constant.
The IV is set up by the researcher in an artificial situation
Participants are aware they are taking part in an experiment, but may be unaware of the true aims of the study

A

The IV is manipulated in a natural setting.

Q

What is quasi experiment

A

The IV is naturally occurring
The DV can be measured in a lab
The key feature is that the IV is not actually
‘manipulated’ it is simply a difference that exists.
