Experimental Designs Flashcards

1
Q

Independent measures design

A

Participants get allocated into groups in random and are compared. The conditions are meant to stay constant in both groups while the IV on one of the groups is manipulated. This method should cause confoundin variables to cancel each other out.

A

Random recruiting of participants, preceded by careful matching of pairs with similar strenghts. There could be a condounding variable, so paring some two individuals with a common variable enables the researchers to control it.
