How does it work? (Action)

  • It’s a type of antidepressant that alters the balance of chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters
  • One of the things we think can cause depression + other conditions= an altered balance of neurotransmitters
  • SSRIs mainly affect one called serotonin

  • if feeling suicidal then we would refer you to a specialist where they would decide on what the appropriate treatment would be
  • past psychiatric illness
