What do you do if someone is wanting to book a VFR arrival/departure?
- Get all their details: call sign, aircraft type, reg etc.
- Ask for stand for non-based aircraft.
- Get phone number for non-based aircraft.
What do you do if someone calls to book an IFR arrival?
- Check slot sheet
- Confirm ILS, NDB, HOLDS, RV or Procedural.
- Make sure it is for today’s date.
What do you do if someone wants to book CCTS?
- Check slot sheet
- Only callsign is required if training school, if non-based, get all information.
- If for future date, ask them to ring back on that date.
What do you do if someone calls to book an APP?
Same details as IFR.
- Check slot sheet
- Confirm ILS, NDB, HOLDS, RV or Procedural.
- Make sure it is for today’s date.
What should you do if WOTG or D129 calls?
- Listen to their information
- Confirm if they are gliding (WOTG) or parachuting (D129)
- Tell ATCO the FL and time.
- Put on the ATIS
How should fuel be requested?
- Call JET FUEL or AVGAS
- Tell them location
When Aeros, L3 or Skyborne call, do you need a phone number and flight details.
A phone number is not required as they have an account.
However, flight details should be taken as we do not get a booking out form from them.
What sequence of calls should be made for a HOSPITAL flight?
- 10 minute call to Handler (ask if they want fire to take it)
- 10 minute call to RFFS (ensure they know it’ll be MA4)
- 10 minute call to OPS
When would FLOW be called?
FLOW is used for CTOT extensions
“Oxford tower, requesting 5 minute extension for (callsign)”
When would FLIGHT PLANS need to be called?
FLIGHT PLANS is used for REROUTES
“Oxford tower, do you have a reroute for (callsign)?”
When would TC GS APTS be called?
TC GS APTS would be called to check for any DLA.
“Oxford tower, is the any DLA going into (airport) for (callsign)?”
