Semi-lateral position with a soft and submissive expression, neither deep set nor prominent. Eyes fairly large, eyelids oval-shaped and close fitting (no entropion or ectropion). The iris is of a more or less dark ochre or brown colour depending on the coat colour.
Bracco taliano
Slightly oblique. With an intelligent, soft and frank expression. Somewhat oval, not protruding, with fine, well pigmented, tightly fitting eyelids. The colour of the iris is in keeping with the colour of the coat, preferably dark. Eye expression coupled with upward movement of the base of the ears gives rise to the true xxxx expression.
Brittany
Of medium size, neither protruding nor deep set. The ideal colour is dark brown. Eyelids tight fitting.
GSP
As dark as possible, neither too deep set nor protruding, with an alert, lively expression. Eyerims well pigmented and close fitting.
GWP
The eyes are slightly oval and of medium size with well fitting eyelids. He has an intelligent and lively expression. The brown eyes harmonise with the coat colour, as dark as possible preferred.
Hungarian Vizsla
Slightly oval, of medium size, well fitting eyelids. Intelligent and lively expression. The brown eye colour harmonising with the coat colour, as dark as possible preferred.
HWV
Large, fairly round and open, eyelids close fitting. Deep yellow in white, and white orange; ochre in brown roans.
Italian Spinone
Intelligent, medium size, dark brown, not deep set or protruding. No haw showing.
Large Musterlander
Amber colour, dark to pale, with intelligent expression. Sky-blue in puppies. Round, set barely slanting. Lids well fitting.
Weimaraner and Weimaraner Longhaired
Eyes : Almond shape, well set into the eyesocket, of amber colour, with an intelligent expression. In the puppies and the young dogs, they are bluish (azure). The eyelids are dark.
Wirehaired Slovakian Pointer
Moderately large almond shaped eyes, obliquely set. Not protruding. Amber to light brown in colour. May change in different light settings.
