Q

proximity

A

milgram thought that having a wall separating the participant and confederate. he thought that this wall acted as a buffer and therefore made it easier for the participant to deliver a shock. in the proximity version of the experiment the participant was put in the same room as the confederate so that they could see and hear him but levels only dropped to 40%

Q

socialisation - agency theory

A

we enter the agentic state because society has told us to respect and obey authority figures. childhood is when we learn who is an authority figure. these childhood experiences can make us behave according to social norms and this is known as socialisation.it is the result of collective social pressures from our surroundings encountered as a child grows up
