What is failure to function adequately?
When someone’s behaviour suggests they cannot cope with everyday demands
What are the features of personal dysfunction?
Maladaptive behaviour
• Stops from attaining life goals

• Behaviour can’t be explained rationally
Observer discomfort
• Behaviour causes discomfort to others
Unpredictability
• unexpected behaviours
What is a strength of FFA?
Focuses on individuals experience
• Acknowledges and considers how individual feels

from perspective of person

What is a limitation of FFA? (Accompany)
Some abnormal behaviours don’t accompany FFA
• Some abnormal behaviours don’t stop person from functioning/cause distress

What is a limitation for FFA? (Normality)

• Some situations it is healthy to FFA
