What is Organisational family diversity?
The differences in the ways families are organised. For example:
- Dual-career families
- Segregated or integrated conjugal roles
- Traditional roles
What is cultural family diversity?
How families differ because of their culture- norms, values, traditions. For example:
- Polygamy- having more than one spouse at a time
- Polyandry-a woman having more than one husband at a time
What is Class family diversity?
How families are run differently because of their place in society. For example:
*Higher-income families may employ childcare workers to help raise their children
What is Life-course family diversity?
When members of the family go through different stages in their lives. For example:
*A family member may start in a nuclear family but go through divorce and become lone parent family
What is Cohort family diversity?
When family members have a different experience of life based on the conditions and time in which they were born.
