List the features of science

A
  • Universal acceptance of paradigms, not too many conflicting approaches like psychology
  • Objectivity – no biases or opinions, only facts
  • Falsifiability – can be proven wrong through scientific testing (E.g, Freud’s theories cannot be proven wrong)
  • Replicability – can be repeated under different contexts to see if results are reliable. Protects against scientific fraud, flukes and sees if its reliable and valid
  • Theory construction – theories made via hypotheses and re-testing. Deductive and Inductive reasoning
