A

It is ancient harvest festival that is still celebrated in many parts of India
Farmers prayed all would go well in the coming year
It is normally celebrated on the 13th or 14th of April

What happened on vaisakhi and why is it important?

A

On this festival Guru Gohbin Singh created the Khalsa (a group of committed Sikhs)

This is because during these times there was a lot of religious persecution

It is also a time to remember sad occasions from the past when Sikhs were persecuted and killed

What’s a significant story in the origin of Diwali?

A

The story of Guru Hargobind:
He was arrested due to his religion with 52 Hindu princes
The prince then released Guru Hargobind, but he refused to leave unless the 52 Hindu princes were also released
The prince said as many people that can hold onto the Gurus clothes can be released
The Guru had a cloak with 52 tassels so all the princes could be freed

This day was know was Bandi cchor divas (prisoner release day )
