  • 1381 - started was led by Wat Tyler - also know as Wat Tyler’s revolt - leader of the 1381 Pesants revolt in England
  • Wat Tyler - led a group of rebels from Canterbury to London@ to oppose the poll tax@ and ‘demand economic and social change’
    major uprising - large parts of England in after black death
  • high taxes resulting from conflict with France during 100 years war
  • instability within leadership of England
  • killed off officers loyal to king Richard II however the legacy of the revolt led to changes in the Rule of Law
