schizophrenia is developed due to the lack of picking up on and learning appropriate social cues. They stop attending to such cues and instead focus on irrelevant cues like- brightness of a room, bird flying above, sound of a word rather then the meaning. Responses are bizarre, and thus reinforced due to negative attention.
